Hi there, I'm Matthew, a budding artist and art/game design student. This blog is for my art-related postings, whether it's finished pieces, work in progress images, concepts or ideas.
17.1.13 “Bill”
“Bill” is a mysterious alien that crash landed on Earth shortly after the disaster that ended most life on the planet. Bill is a 3ft high creature of unknown species, who works for a team who act like “Space Police”. During an incident his team are split up after their ship explodes. The fate of his team are unknown, but Bill was near Earth, trying to find them, when the shock from the disaster on Earth brought down his escape craft.
“Andromeda” Meet Lieutenant Andromeda Bowden, one of the main characters in my hopefully soon upcoming story, Still Alive. Inspiration for her came from numerous other characters, including Torchwood’s Gwen Cooper, 30 Rock’s Liz Lemon and more.
“GoodKnight” A character instead of a creature today, this is GoodKnight, an androgynous British knight, and hopefully the star of a small game concept I am working on. The armour was inspired by various generic knights, as well as Alice’s armour from the 2010 Alice in Wonderland film and Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil
“The Koaligator” a mutant Koala cursed with the enormous tail of an Alligator, the wing flaps of a Flying Squirrel and a reptillian tongue.
Planned to be used as a creature in my hopefully soon upcoming Still Alive series.
Inspired by Dingodile of Crash Bandicoot fame.

Some colour tests on my Brave drawing, testing blending unusual colours (Merida’s dress, lush grass, fluffy bear, Merida’s hair.etc)
more recent WIP of the Brave drawing. Added a full on background including lush grass, creepy forest (including the fearsome Mor’du!), circle of stones and cloudy sky, all derived from stills and concept art from the film. Next up, time to colour!
Here’s a project I’ve been working on on-and-off for a while, a miniature replica of”Seymour Asses”from the tear-jerking episode ofFuturama,Jurassic Bark!He’s scaled to the Toynami Phillip Fry figure. Here’s what I’ve done so far!
